Our  dog is a Bouvier, so she doesn’t shed but requires regular grooming. After trying a few other groomers, someone recommended the ‘spaw’ at Fetch in Kerrisdale, Vancouver. Actually, I think two people recommended them but the last guy actually had a Bouvier and his dog looked great.  Just a standard, tight utility cut.  We didn’t want any thing foofy.  We wanted something that was easy to take care of and finally, we wanted our Bouvier to look like a Bouvier. Makena came home from one place looking like a 90 pound poodle. I love poodles. We had one growing up (allergies and all).  But Makena looked like a clown with a marshmallow head. Out came the scissors. It took me a couple of hours of hack work to make her look Bouv-ish. Not great, but still better than the time my brother gave our poodle a Mohawk, and I mean a SEVERE MOHAWK.  Mother was not impressed and still claims it mentally scarred Tangy, who was from that point on known as Mr. T (for obvoius reasons).  I continue to deny I had anything to do with this hatchet job.  Sure I was there. Yes, I watched my brother do it. And I thought it was hilarious. BUT, at no time did my hands touch the scissors.

Back to Fetch - Deirdre at Fetch does great work and the grooming is affordably priced. 

Our dog can be a bit anxious and they’ve been fabulous about getting her in and out as quickly as possible. (She only cries when nobody is talking to her.)  Unlike the other places we tried, Fetch does not double as a daycare, so it’s not as hectic and proves a lot less stressful for Makena. 

We’ve been thrilled with the service. Not only do they seem to appreciate our business, they always follow up by sending us coupons for discounts off their merchandise.
